Gender War On Toys

When I was a small girl I played with LEGOs. They didn’t have any LEGOs for girls, but I still played with them. I would have been infinitely more interested in the toys if there had been a version for girls. Why? Could it be because I am a girl and I like girl things? I can’t believe feminists are upset with a toy company for creating a line of their product geared toward girls. When did having a gender become a crime? This is what I don’t understand. When my daughter was small, she was naturally more interested in girl toys than she was boy toys. Never once in a toy store did she automatically gravitate toward toy cars or trucks, building sets or Transformers. No…she always went straight for the baby dolls, dress up kits and Barbie dolls. I don’t ever recall pushing her in that direction, she just went that way on her own. Now, we have feminists who want to squelch natural instincts because their offended that a toy has small anatomically correct features. GIVE ME A BREAK!!!! It is my humble opinion that feminists need to get over themselves. It’s a fact of life that girls have parts that boys don’t have and vice versa. What is so wrong with that? NOTHING!!! What is wrong with a male or female child naturally choosing traditional gender roles for themselves? NOTHING!!! Yet here we are with liberals trying to remove any and all traces of gender from schools AND from toys. This is beyond ridiculous. My niece Maggie and my great-nephew Ethan are with me everyday during the week and I watch them play. More often than not, Maggie will automatically reach for a “girl toy” and Ethan will automatically reach for a “boy toy” in the toy box. There is no one pointing out the differences to them, it is just part of the genetic code in each one of them. They play together very well and there are no “equality issues”. So here is my question. If children can play together and not make an issue of gender, why are liberals? Why is it wrong for them to accept their natural gender? Someone…please explain this to me!
